The purpose of VYP is to promote business growth\, further \nyour career and contribute to our community. Together\, we are developing the \nnext generation of leaders who will take Phoenix to the next level of world \nclass cities to work\, live and play in.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Dean Christopher Callahan\, Founding Dean of the \nWalter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication\nTopic: Walter \nCronkite's Legacy in Phoenix\n\n\nASU's journalism program exploded onto the national education landscape in 1984 \nwhen the school was named in honor of Walter Cronkite\, the longtime CBS Evening \nNews anchor.  2004 marked the Cronkite School becoming an independent unit \nand an integral part of a newly planned campus in downtown Phoenix.
