The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (the Foundation) convenes and catalyzes business, education, and community to enhance college and career readiness, develop a stronger workforce, and build healthier communities throughout Arizona. The Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, leads the charitable and education initiatives of the Greater Phoenix Chamber under the four pillars of education, workforce development, wellness, and research. Through strong alignment between education, business, and community, the Foundation prepares individuals for college and career and serves as an intermediary to convey workforce needs and champion scalable workforce solutions. In addition, the Foundation makes Arizona and the Greater Phoenix region known as destinations for healthy talent and healthy communities through workplace wellness efforts and publishes data-driven research to inform policymakers, business leaders, and the general public.

ElevateEdAZ
ElevateEdAZ is an initiative of the Foundation, in partnership with public school districts, high schools, and charter schools, intended to increase the number of students completing high-quality education-to-workforce learning pathways and improve student outcomes, better preparing them for college and career.

Ideal candidates will also have a passion for education and working with businesses to define and integrate viable career pathways into Arizona's education system.
Position Summary
The Foundation is looking for a College and Career Coach (Coach) to serve in a participating ElevateEdAZ high school and represent the program within the school and school community. The Coach will collaborate with the ElevateEdAZ team of other school Coaches, a District Director (their direct report), and a Business Partnership Coordinator, along with school administrators in their assigned high school to achieve the objectives of ElevateEdAZ.
Primary Responsibilities
ElevateEdAZ's Coach will become an integral member of the school community while reporting to Foundation staff. The Coach works in collaboration with school educators and administrators to coordinate a variety of career development opportunities for students and educators from broad awareness to job shadows and internships. Primary responsibilities are:
- Increase the number of students enrolled in and completing CTE pathways aligned to priority industry sectors defined by ElevateEdAZ.
- Work with school leadership and ElevateEdAZ staff to better align school curriculum to CTE pathways aligned to the following priority industry sectors: Construction, Business Management & Administration, Marketing, and Sales, Education, Engineering (STEM), Financial Services, Health Sciences, Information Technology & Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics
- Promote these pathways to prospective students to increase enrollment and completion rates.
- Maintain employer relationships within the school in collaboration with the ElevateEdAZ Business Partnership Team and District faculty and administration.
- Increase attainment of industry-recognized credentials and early postsecondary credit.
- Support and encourage offerings for students to complete industry-recognized credentials.
- Support students as they explore career pathways, facilitating the student aptitude testing and helping students interpret results.
- Promote post-secondary pathways into local community college and university programs, maintaining a strong understanding of the options available within CTE pathways aligned to the priority industry sectors.
- Provide 1:1 and/or group career preparation support to students, including but not limited to resume writing, mock interviews, and workplace etiquette training.
- Increase the number of students completing a capstone work-based learning experience (job shadows and internship).
- Identify, prepare, and match students with work-based learning opportunities throughout the school year and during the summer.
- Coordinate and ensure participation in work-based learning experiences, focusing on job shadows and internships, including career fairs, career panels, guest speakers, and industry-related field trips.
- Work with school administrators to provide more flexible schedules and remove barriers for students to participate in job shadows or internships.
- Develop in-school career awareness, exploration, and work-based learning events and activities on campus.
- Assist with identifying transportation solutions for students to access work-based learning opportunities, such as travel vouchers, vans/buses, etc.
- Empower educators to reimagine classroom learning: Through employer-led educator externships, teachers learn technical skills, skillsets industry leaders are seeking in job candidates, and how to integrate those into their curriculum
- Identify and connect teachers and employers for teacher externship opportunities. Assist in teacher commitment to business engagement
- Administrative
- Be familiar with and follow all school and district policies, procedures, and practices.
- Represent ElevateEdAZ within the school by participating in faculty and staff meetings and other related meetings in the school.
- Focus time only on ElevateEdAZ tasks and strategies and do not interfere with the normal educational services provided at the school.
- Complement other internal and external student support roles within the school, such as dual enrollment coordinators and counselors, and refer students needing social or academic assistance to appropriate support services.
- Document all activities in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
- Proactively communicate with ElevateEdAZ staff to inform the team of progress and obstacles related to key objectives.
- Maintain the ElevateEdAZ designated space within the school to ensure high visibility and a welcoming environment for students.
Candidate Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must work effectively with youth, employers, teachers, school administrators, and Chamber/Foundation staff. The candidate will communicate in a strong, positive, and effective manner, both verbally and non-verbally, and be a self-starter with the ability to sustain and move work forward with minimal direction. The ideal candidate must be well organized with the ability to ensure continuous progress of various projects.
The Coach is a Foundation employee and is therefore expected to work collaboratively with other departments and be a team player to help accomplish the Chamber's organizational mission. This position will work from multiple locations, including at their assigned school (3 days/week), remote (1 day/week), and the Chamber/Foundation office (approximately one day/week). The typical workday is 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on campus, and 8 am – 5 pm on office days.
The Foundation is looking for candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities desirable for job success:
- Minimum two-years' experience in volunteer management, counseling, coaching, education, or community relations
- Minimum one-year experience working with youth required, preferably in a teaching or guidance counselor capacity
- Minimum one-year experience working with schools, school leaders, and/or staff
- Experience working in the industry is also highly preferred
- Experience implementing a strategic plan is highly preferred
- Understanding of, and experience with, embedding work-based learning, project-based learning, and/or experiential learning opportunities into curriculum preferred
- Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to establish professional relationships
- Must possess analytical ability to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities and solutions
- Must be able to provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers at all levels of an organization
- Detail-oriented with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks. Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in all MS Office products
- Must be able to travel to schools and partners regularly; reliable transportation is necessary
- Must be able to pass a background check, fingerprint clearance, and a drug test

Reporting
The Coach will report to the District Director, an employee of the Foundation.
