About Us

KJZZ 91.5 FM is a listener-supported public radio station serving the Phoenix metropolitan area with trusted local, national, and international news. Weekend programming features comedy, arts, entertainment, and Sunday night blues, while KJZZ HD2 provides jazz music around the clock.

Over the years, KJZZ, the Valley's NPR member station, has earned numerous prestigious national and regional honors, including Edward R. Murrow Awards and recognition from the Public Media Journalists Association. Yet, the station's most meaningful recognition comes from the people it serves, its members.

As Christian from Chandler shares, ''KJZZ is not an algorithm telling you what to think, but people respectfully sharing stories and facts and encouraging critical thinking.''
KJZZ is part of the Division of Public Service at Rio Salado College, within the Maricopa County Community College District.

The Division also includes KBACH 89.5 FM, Arizona's home for classical music; Sun Sounds of Arizona, a reading service for people who cannot read print because of a disability; and SPOT 127, a youth media center that empowers young people with digital media and journalism skills.

Together, these community services are supported by Friends of Public Radio Arizona, whose mission is to ensure the long-term vitality and excellence of public radio in Arizona while expanding community support.
