About Us

UAGC serves approximately 35,000 working adult students with accessible, flexible, high-quality education. The university was originally founded in 1918 as Mount St. Clare College and became Ashford University in 2005 when Bridgepoint Education (now Zovio Inc.) purchased it from the Sisters of St. Francis in Clinton, IA.
